About Jane M Gannon

TEACHING

Dr. Gannon is the Assistant Dean of Simulation Based Learning at the College of Nursing and a Clinical Associate Professor. She collaborates with faculty members and others to identify, develop, implement and evaluate simulation based activities on both the Gainesville and Jacksonville campuses. She teaches in the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs.

RESEARCH

Dr. Gannon collaborates with faculty members from the colleges of pharmacy and medicine on the Jacksonville campus to conduct education research focused on interprofessional care delivery. The team’s joint efforts have produced simulations on end-of-life care and medication management safety using TeamSTEPPS competencies. Their collaboration extends to publications and presentations on their simulation efforts as well.

SERVICE

In the College of Nursing, Dr Gannon is a member of the Administration Council and Academic Leadership Group. Dr Gannon is also a member of the Duval Interprofessional Research Team, as well as the UFHealth Interprofessional Work Group. She represents the Jacksonville faculty on UFHealth Jacksonville’s Strategic Planning Work Group.

Research Profile

Dr. Gannon’s clinical area of expertise is midwifery and women’s health. Her clinical interests include outcome evaluation to assess the impact of change practices on quality and safety in care delivery. Her academic research interests include the impact of simulation on prelicensure nursing students and interprofessional teams of health science student outcomes
